10/4/08 Health Fair, Health & Harmony Center, Ft.
Myers
Long time Chapter member Kandy Love, owner and operator of the
Health & Harmony Center in Fort Myers, and former president of
the Chapter, has brought some wonderful teachers and presenters to
the community over the past 18 years. The Center is celebrating is
18th anniversary next month with a Health Fair Celebration on
Saturday, October 4, 2008, from 2:30 - 6:30 pm. Mark your calendar
and swing by to visit. The Center has been touching the hearts and
bodies of the people of Southwest Florida since October 1990. This
event will feature all of the services offered at the Center: Yoga,
Massage, Craniosacral, Integrated Awareness, Meditation, Reiki,
Gyrokinesis, Crystal Bowls, and products and gift items from the
Harmony Shoppe. You will be able to take a chair yoga class and a
Gyrokinesis class, receive chair massage and Reiki session. In
addition you can talk individually with each unique and dedicated
teacher, therapist, and specialist. We will be introducing our new
Kids Yoga Teacher, Suzanne, and our new Ayuvedic product line,
Shankara, as well. A Silent Auction featuring Center services,
local artists and authors, and products. The proceeds will benefit
HEAL (Haven of Earth Animal League, Inc.) and make the center more
eco-friendly.

10/25 & 10/26/08 Two-day Continuing Education seminar, Ft.
Myers
SomTherapy.com is a continuing education service for massage
therapists. They are planning a seminar in North Fort Myers on
October 25/26, 2008, at the Best Western Waterfront. It will be 12
hours of live seminar. The class will be on Saturday and Sunday
from 8 am to 3 pm to satisfy the new requirement of 12 hours of
technique. To complete the mandatory 26 CEUs, they will also be
giving away the 14 hours required by the state - free - as home
study material to be competed by attendees at their own pace. The
cost of the seminar is $175. Therapists can call or sign up on the

Every second Tuesday
Every second Tuesday of the month, Emil Guido, LMT and Dr. Russell
Turner, DC, are giving free-to-the-public classes from 7 - 8 pm at
the Estero Medical Center on the NE corner of Three Oaks and
Corkscrew, Estero. Scheduled: 8/12/08 "Body Cleansing: The Lymph
System. Future wellness classes will include injury prevention,
exercises and stretches, home treatments, ice or heat, doctor
visits and treatments, massage therapy. (4/26/08)
Sports Massage Team Events
Our Chapter's Sports Massage Team is being reactivated under the
leadership of Charles Henry, LMT, of Naples, MA# 49422. Charles attended the William Muhlstadt Sports
Massage Certification program on August 9, 2008, along with Chapter
member Michael Schmetterer (the fishing cruise host) and several
other members of our Chapter. As of July 21, 2008 we have a Sports
Massage Team and look forward to posting somenews about sports
events here on the website. Charles reports that he has made some
preliminary inquiries into athletic events, so we will soon have
some information for you. If you would like to contact Charles,

Seated Massage Events
Special events like store openings, a day at a hospital, etc., for
chair massage to be listed here. If you know of such an opportunity
